“Return of the Turn” with Marcus Caston
Return of the Turn:
A VIDEO SERIES DEDICATED TO SKI TURNS?
Marcus Caston keeps mustaches en vogue.
He also does the same for ski turns.
If you want to watch videos of world class skiers making ski turns look cooler than they’ve ever looked, then you’ve come to the right place.
The art of the turn has become somewhat of a lost art. But it is a beautiful art.
And there may not be anyone who appreciates the inherent beauty of the turn more than Marcus Caston.
Marcus, a professional skier from Salt Lake City, Utah, is the central figure in his famed (okay, it’s growing in fame…) web series “Return of the Turn”.
He gives us those sweet 80s vibes and brings excitement and enthusiasm back to skiing.
And trust us, these films are next level.
After all, Marcus knows a thing or two about compelling films; being that he’s become a staple presence in Warren Miller films over the last several years.
Waffling between profound quotables, dad-level humor, epic shots, and terrible ski conditions, this series is truly worth the watch.
Powder. Corn. Bumps. Groomers. White concrete. It doesn’t matter.
It’s all potential for a good time.
You can join Marcus and his friends on their journey, as they carve their way through the wide world of skiing.
There are 8 episodes in the video series.
Hold onto your beanies and boots.
It’s a wild ride.
RETURN OF THE TURN
EPISODE 1: “BUMPS”
In Episode 1 of “Return of the Turn”, Marcus Caston heads to Squaw Valley, USA, to meet up with freestyle legend, Jonny Moseley, and members of the US mogul team. They celebrate the eternal glory of the mogul.
EPISODE 2: “GROOMERS”
In Episode 2, Marcus and friends meet up and talk about the feeling of experiencing the perfect turn. Skiing groomers, although straightforward in nature, can be exhilarating. “Ever stuck your head out the window of a moving car, pulled it back in, and then you go WHEWWW!!! Well…. it’s a lot like that.”
EPISODE 3: CORN
In Episode 3, Marcus travels to Mt. Hood in search of some late-Summer corn-skiing. He certainly finds it…. along with thousands and thousands of… well, you’ll have to watch to find out.
EPISODE 4: STRAIGHT SKIS
In Episode 4, Marcus proves once again that he was born in the wrong decade and decides to throw it back to the 80s, whipping out the straight skis. Let the hot-dogging ensue. “They just don’t make ’em like they used to, you know?”
EPISODE 6: FIREBIRD
In Episode 6, Marcus is fearing he will lose his passion for skiing. He starts to hallucinate and finds the Firebird, which puts the passion back in his veins. Now, he is running red hot. Nothing says “skiing” quite like denim vests.
EPISODE 8: SWISS VACATION
In Episode 8, Marcus and his friend, Connery Lundin, travel to Engelberg, Switzerland, to experience the world famous Swiss Alps. After doing some sight-seeing and after stuffing their faces with cheese & beer, they run into fellow sponsored athlete Johan Jonsson, who reminds them why they are really there: “You know the Swiss Alps are quite famous for it’s skiing too??”
