Helly Hansen, Official Outdoor Clothing Partner of the Hahnenkamm Races

After years of successful collaboration with the some of the best national teams competing in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup, (such as Canada, Sweden, and Finland), Helly Hansen is proud to announce a partnership with Kitzbühel Ski Club and the marketing partner Weirather-Wenzel & Partner as the official outdoor clothing partner of the legendary Hahnenkamm Races.

Once a year, Kitzbühel, considered one of the most famous winter sports resorts in Europe, becomes the venue for one of the world’s toughest ski races. A highlight in the international World Cup circuit, the Hahnenkamm Races have been hosted by the Kitzbühel Ski Club since 1931.

The dreaded Streif descent and the demanding slalom on the Ganslernhang are legendary. Each year, spectators turn out in the thousands to watch the racing. Last year, the Ski Sport Hotspot counted more than 85,000 spectators on site and over 300 million ski enthusiasts from Europe watched the season highlight on television. In 2019, the renowned Hahnenkamm Race will take place from 21st to 27th January.

The Streif is considered the most spectacular ski run in the world with jumps up to 80m, steep slopes up to 85% gradient, and speeds up to 140 km/h. In addition to Olympic and World Championships medals, a victory in Kitzbühel is a highlight of every athlete’s career. Fast, technically demanding, and hard on the legs, only the brave make it to the finish line of the Streif. The winner becomes a ski legend.

With the newly formed partnership, Helly Hansen will be the Official Outdoor Clothing Partner of the Hahnenkamm Races from 2019 until 2022. We will provide high quality and functional gear to the executive committee and, from 2020, the entire organizing committee of the Kitzbühel Ski Club. Helly Hansen will also provide gear for the HKR slopes teams who operate under the toughest conditions on the mountain. Finally, Weirather-Wenzel & Partner, the marketing partner, will also be outfitted in Helly Hansen. As Michael Huber, Organizing Committee Chief, explains, “the weather has been a very challenging factor for the whole team working on the event, and the clothing must be able to keep up. Therefore, Helly Hansen is a perfect match.”

“We are thrilled to be partnering with one of the most important ski World Cup events. This partnership emphasizes our position in the ski industry. Our gear is trusted by more than 60,000 professionals around the world and we look forward to providing the best possible support for the teams at the Hahnenkamm Races with our technical clothing,” said Michael Uhl, Global Marketing Director at Helly Hansen.

We are very proud to be part of this great ski event, and we are looking forward to seeing you in Kitzbühel!
