Eric Pollard
Lives
Welches, Oregon
Personal description
Eric has a knack for surviving situations that would be the end for any normal human. He’s survived a marathon length emergency extraction from deep in the Oregon backcountry after breaking his back. He’s survived being caught in the middle of two potentially fatal avalanches on two consecutive big mountain lines. He’s survived being T-boned by a luxury car while riding in a golf cart in Mexico (he even managed to save the small child that was riding with him before ninja rolling himself to safety). But then again, Eric is far from a normal human. His unique approach to his life and his skiing has always stood out in an industry that has a habit of making the extraordinary seem routine. Whether it’s skiing whole mountain faces switch, switch powder slashes, butters in powder, corking his spins on a new axis, painting his own top sheets on his snowboard size pro model skis, or just spending his summers on epic surf adventures, Eric is always doing something different from the crowd and it’s usually the most aesthetically pleasing thing you’ll see all day.
This season Eric continued to change the face of skiing with the help of the Nimbus crew. As a follow up to Hunting Yeti, they launched En Route, a series of location based webisodes and they will release another full length film titled Contrast this fall.
