Personal description
Colin and Julie Angus gained international recognition in 2006 for completing the first human-powered circumnavigation of the globe. They walked, skied and cycled from Vancouver, British Columbia, through Alaska, Siberia, and Europe; rowed across the Atlantic; and worked their way home through the Caribbean, Central America and the United States, covering nearly 26,000 miles in two years.
In the December issue of National Geographic Adventure that same year, one of North America's most prestigious outdoor lifestyle publications, Colin and Julie were named "Adventurers of the Year".
Their most recent adventure was a trip in two homemade rowboats from Scotland to Syria. A labyrinth of canals and rivers connect the North Sea with the Mediterranean. The team traced a 7,000 km zigzagging route through 15 countries in their self-propelled vessels.
