Helly Hansen Expands Award-Winning Odin Collection to Include Burly Odin Hooded Belay Jacket
OSLO, Norway (Fall/Winter 2012-13) — Helly Hansen is devoted to providing working professionals, from Vail Resorts’ ski patrollers to Mountain Madness’ backcountry guides, with unsurpassed waterproof breathable outerwear capable of withstanding year after year of heavy use in the world’s harshest climates.
In Fall/Winter 2012-13, Helly Hansen expands its collection of award-winning, expedition-grade Odin outerwear to better fight arctic temperatures with the guide tested and approved Odin Hooded Belay Jacket for men and women. Helly Hansen took its beloved Odin Isolator Jacket and made it longer, warmer and burlier, as well as gifted it with a generous hood for steadfast protection on exposed terrain.
The densely woven jacket’s unsurpassed warmth is derived from water-shedding PrimaLoft® One insulation, which is renowned for its warmth-to-weight ratio. The jacket’s Pertex Quantum® super lightweight nylon ripstop outer face is durable enough to withstand constant abuse. Harness and helmet compatible, the jacket’s Eco DWR coating can withstand unexpected mountain storms.
Helly Hansen rounds out the collection with the Odin Insulated Softshell Jacket, a sleek lightweight softshell that combines WarmCore by PrimaLoft® padding with stretchy fleece for unparalleled warmth in wintery months. The jacket features superb breathability thanks to its unique double-weave softshell construction.
In Fall/Winter 2012-13, Helly Hansen’s expedition-grade Odin collection’s award-winning Odin Mountain Jacket returns alongside the waterproof breathable shell Odin Mountain Pant and the full-stretch, highly breathable softshell, Odin Guide Pant. In Fall/Winter 2011-12, the Outside Buyer’s Guide awarded the Odin Mountain Jacket with Gear of the Year for Resort Jackets for its sleek, stretchy construction, and resort-friendly features.
