Helly Hansen Athletic Hydro Power Collection infuses progressive design into Sailing Apparel

OSLO, NORWAY (Spring 2011) -- Sailing regattas are won by paying attention to details. Victory goes to the best tactician. Helly Hansen has been the best tactician in sailing apparel design for 134 years. The company’s attention to detail ensures sailors they will stay dry and comfortable so they can perform at their best.

Helly’s Hydro Power collection of technical apparel and sportswear for sport boat sailors incorporates more than a century’s-worth of at-sea technical experience with progressive and youthful Scandinavian style. The collection of jackets, dry tops, smocks, insulators, bibs, pants and casual wear is both athletic and functional performance on water, and stylish enough for wear at work, home or play.

For wet days on the boat or on shore, the Hydro Power Bay Jacket is a progressive sailing-inspired protective shell styled for everyday use. The Bay is constructed with Helly Tech® two-layer waterproof breathable fabric and features a Polartec® fleece collar, a PU inner cuff that keeps water from creeping inside the sleeves, and a one-hand adjustable hem.

The Hydro Power Pant is a versatile high-activity sailing pant that complements the Bay Jacket with complete water protection from the waist down. The Helly Tech pant has a comfortable fit and articulated knees ideal for inshore racing and daylong or extended cruises.

If you’re sailing the kind of boat where lots of water is inevitable, the Hydro Power Dry Top features waterproof rubber neck and cuffs that keep water getting in. The body is constructed with Helly Tech O2 that promises the highest waterproof breathability rating in the Helly Hansen line. The top is designed for professional around-the-cans racers who want unrestricted movement and maximum protection.

When extra protection is required, the Hydro Power Shorts may be worn over or under your sailing bibs or on their own in warmer conditions. The shorts are made with Helly Tech and are lined for comfort. Durability is enhanced with a reinforced seat.
