Ask Sportswear Collection

Description

Helly Hansen Ask Sportswear Collection is a Gift from the Gods

OSLO, NORWAY (Spring 2011) -- In the beginning, according to Norwegian lore, the god Odin created Ask and Embla, the first man and woman, out of wood. Helly Hansen’s fashion designers used this inspiration in combining 133 years of experience in protecting professionals from Norway’s harsh elements with all the best elements of Scandinavian design. The Ask collection for men is available through premium fashion retailers in spring 2011.

Helly Hansen has created rainwear to protect sailors and adventurers from nature’s forces since the days that Odin ruled the earth. The Ask Raincoat brings Helly’s design expertise into the urban realm with a contemporary Scandinavian-inspired silhouette that cleanly blends supple yet advanced fabrics with highly functional features. The knee-length shell delivers exceptional rain and wind protection with its Helly Tech® O2 waterproof breathable nylon exterior – the same textile used in Helly Hansen’s expedition-grade garments. It is fitted with an adjustable waist belt and features precise laser cut seams, zippered hand pockets and a collar for extra protection.

The Ask Catalina Jacket is a modernized Scandinavian version of a classic style. The casual waist-length cotton jacket is tailored with an internal Helly Tech drop liner to provide better weather protection without detracting from its street appeal. The Catalina features zippered hand pockets, snap-adjustable cuffs and a rib-knit hem.

The Ask Raincoat and Catalina Jacket are part of the 12-piece Ask sportswear collection of complementary jackets, fleece midlayers, organic cotton polos, V-neck t-shirts, pants and shorts for men who have an appreciation for quality construction and progressive design.
