Aurélien Ducroz, the Helly Hansen freeride ambassador, shined at second stop of the Freeride World Tour in Italy who took place last weekend in Courmayeur. Because of a high start number, Aurélien had to find an alternative line to avoid the other competitors’ tracks. He did a very nice run, fluid, clean and creative, and finished in 4th place. As he announced, the title race has started for him.
“After my fall in Revelstoke, I’m happy with 4th place, bringing me closer to the podium! I did a solid run, there was one trick missing on the bottom section but because of a path error, I had to replace the backflip I intended to do with a less spectacular trick. The other competitors have been better, that’s part of the game. I’m now looking forward to competing in Chamonix, I’m feeling confident for this stop at home!”
Next stop is tomorrow, with the essential French event of Chamonix. Considered as the freeride Mecca, it’s obviously the favorite playground of the rider. It will be a very important stop for the skier/skipper who established himself as winner in 2011, the day after the baptism of his boat in Chamonix. A feat he intends to repeat this year in front of all his fans.
