Here is an e-mail that we recevied from Dean Cummings (Owner of H2O Heli Guides - a Helly Hansen guiding partner) about his latest accomplishment that we wanted to share:

I am super proud to announce that after looking at descending the Dragon's Back down Meteorite Mountain since 1991, I finally got the first descent of the direct spine  This mountain was struck by a Meteorite in 1927 and created this ramp that is 50 degrees sustained for 2800 vertical feet, It's like it was cut with laser, check out the link regarding the story of the actual Meteorite striking the mountain: http://valdezalaska.org/history/meteorMountain.html.  The spine had sections that were 60 degrees with high exposure.

I had four camera's on my body: one mounted on a pole above my head , one mounted on my right ski, and also one mounted on my goggles. We shot this with 8 different cameras, the 4 POV's on my body, aerial from the helicopter with video and still camera footage and also from an opposing peak with motion camera and still camera.

This was more of a personal mission than it was a filming endeavor but I truly can't wait to share the experience this fall with a theatrical tour and at the trade shows.

This was a very technical descent and summarized many many years of protocols and techniques in big Alaska mountains.  A huge thanks to all the support, the guide team and all the amazing equipment that I was using to accomplish this dream.
