Getting to Chipiona

  • September 27, 2011

When we arrived at Cascais, we anchored  outside the marina and had dinner. After a little while we decided to have another night sailing down to Vilamoura, which  is approx 114 miles away.

Once again there were no wind, and we had to go by motor the whole distance. Before we went into the marina i Vilamoura, we had a swim in the 22 degrees  warm water. We stayed in vilamoura for a night, and another day, before we had another night sailing down to chipiona in spain. During the trip down to Chipiona ,we saw lots of fishing vessels and many dolphins joined us for some time, and at about  4am  there were finally enough wind (14 knots from north west) to put up our sails and sailed all the way until we arrived at Chipiona at 2pm, were we ended the trip with another swim in the 24 degrees hot water.
